We used really basic ingredients that we had in our fridge, if you want you can add much more stuff on it but that’s all we had (that’s what happens when you bake on a Wednesday).

Food coloring and alternatives:
I personally believe we should try to use as less food coloring as possible. They’re really dangerous and not so good for our health, however in this case I didn’t have Time to try if paprika would work for the nose when mixing it with the yellow from the turmeric so we decided to use this artificial color. You have so many options out there they even sell natural colorings that you can try.

Olive oil and alternatives:
I think when speaking of terms of oil using in our kitchen extra virgin olive oil is the best one, we are from Spain and this is the only oil you will see in a Spanish kitchen when cooking. It leaves this amazing flavor to all the foods, im not the biggest fan of it when using it in our cakes because i think it has too much flavor but when making savory food, please use this kind.
If you can’t have it, or you simply don’t like to use it you could try any other seeds oil, the second most popular is the sunflower seeds oil, it doesn’t have a lot of flavor, perfect for baking and a cheaper option.
I have never tried any other oils in my life so I can’t recommend you any other. You can try butter? Probably, but I can’t assure you anything, but i recommend you being creative and using what you want when cooking so you can have much more fun okay.
How to make it Extra yummyes
Here are some options to make your ducky pizza more delicious.
- You want yo stuff your crust, so you separate 4 sections of dough, shape into some ball kind and roll out the dough with a rolling pan and stuff the edges with cheese, so it will be extra cheesy.
- Cheese stuff, you want to mix feta cheese with mozzarella cheese. This is gonna be giving so much flavor and this salty taste.
- Blend one tomato, add 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil, a pinch of salt and chop some leafs of basil. Mix all this and use it as the pizza base. Add more cheese mix and the toppings on top.
- Whoever its cooked and out of the oven, splash a bit of EVOO on top, this will give it an amazing flavor.
Alternatives to fresh yeast
If you can’t get fresh yeast or you rather not use it don’t worry we have another option, Because we are not genius we can’t think that much.
Here is what you can do in order to make this super cute and delicious duck pizza:
3 grams of fresh yeast are the same as 1 gram of dry active yeast. So this would mean needing 5 grams of dry yeast for this recipe. But you need to change the recipe process a little bit when using this type of yeast we can’t use cold water, we need a warmer water to activate the yeast. So we are gonna make an sponge, here is how we are gonna be making this recipe when using dry yeast.
You wanna mix the dry yeast and lukewarm water, cover with a damp towel and allow it to rest for about 8-10 minutes, if you have a warm place you can go it’s gonna be a faster process just so you know. Now you can do the rest of the recipe as normal.
RECIPE in cups and grams
INGREDIENTS:
- 125 ml water (4.23 floz)
- 113 grams bread flour (0.9 cups)
- 113 grams AP flour (0.9 cups)
- 1 tbsp evoo
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp tumeric
- 15 grams fresh yeast (1 tbsp)
- 1 tsp oregano
- 50 grams mozzarella cheese (0.45 cups)
- 8 cherry tomatoes
- Chocolate chip for eyes.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- This is how you make this cute and delicious duck pizza. First of all you want to add both of your flours (bread and AP), water, fresh yeast, salt, turmeric, extra virgin olive oil and fresh yeast into your bowl of preference. At this point you can use the one that comes with the stand mixer so you don’t have to clean as many bowls.
2. You want to mix everything and separate about 10 grams of dough, add orange food coloring to this one and mix it until well integrated.
I recommend you put the yellow dough on your stand mixer with the dough hook attachment and leave it there kneading on medium speed while you mix the coloring because this step is literally the most complicated from the whole recipe. Whenever you see that everything is integrated, go ahead and leave it in a slightly oiled recipient or oil and cover it.
Make sure you knead the dough properly it’s gonna take about 15 minutes and it should be looking kind of elastic. Put it on the other side of the recipient where you had the orange dough already
3. Make sure you cover it properly using some plastic wrap, damp paper towel or some kitchen cloth. This is what it’s gonna be looking like after 40 minutes of resting.
It is really important that the dough stays in a warm place, so it can fasten the process. If you have a fire place, leave it nearby. If it’s really hot outside, make sure it’s really covered and just leave it there.
4. You wanna separate the yellowish dough into 4 sections they should be weighting around 74-76 grams each if you wanna know. Shape them like you see on the picture
Now grab the orange and make 12 tiny circular balls.
5. You want to press the stomach. Pushing carefully. Add the ducky feet and nose sticking it with a little of water, if you add to much water its gonna be slimy so you want to dip your finger into water, dry the excess and press where you want to stick it. Now this step is really important, we forgot to do it and that’s why its looking kind rough.
Make sure you allow the dough to proof for 10 minutes, covering it and repeating the warm place process. This is gonna be giving us a super smooth texture.
6. Decorate using your fave toppings, this is your moment to shine and be all creative. And bake at 200 C OR 390 F for about 13 minutes.
7. Melt some chocolate for the eyes, you can also use bbq sauce, balsamic vinegar, olives, food coloring, i don’t know there’s so many options for you to choose from. We added some basil to decorate and it’s so ready to eat. We forgot to mention we did add some blush to this little guy with some red coloring. You don’t have to at all just thought it was cute.
Now you can enjoy this cute and delicious duck pizza
Delicious Duck pizza (cutest thing ever easy to prepare)
Materials

- 125 Ml water
- 113 Grams bread flour
- 113 Grams AP flour
- 1 Tbsp olive oil extra virgin
- 1 /2 Tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp Turmeric
- 15 Grams fresh yeast
toppings
- 1 Tsp oregano
- 50 Grams mozzarella
- 8 cherry tomatoes
- 1 Chip chocolate or black food coloring
Instructions
dough
- First of all you want to add both of your flours (bread and AP), water, fresh yeast, salt, turmeric, extra virgin olive oil and fresh yeast into your bowl of preference. At this point you can use the one that comes with the stand mixer so you don’t have to clean as many bowls.125 Ml water, 113 Grams bread flour, 113 Grams AP flour, 1 Tbsp olive oil, 1 /2 Tsp salt, 1 Tbsp Turmeric, 15 Grams fresh yeast
(orange dough)
- mix everything and separate about 10 grams of dough.
- add orange food coloring to this tiny dough and mix until you like the color. Put it in an oiled bowl. We don’t need to knead this that much and since applying the color is gonna take a while, it’s gonna be perfectly kneaded.
back to the normal dough
- with the dough hook attachment knead the dough in the stand mixer at medium speed for about 15 minutes.
- The dough should be more elastic looking and it should be ready now.
- allow your dough to proof in an slightly oiled bowl. Cover it with damp paper towel or some clothing trap you can find for 40 minutes. It’s really important that it stays in a warm place, this will make it easier and the dough will raise faster. If you want you can also leave the dough at this point overnight on your fridge and use the next morning.
- separate the dough into 4 sections from the same size it should weight something like 74-76 grams.
- shape each section into a ball and put it over some parchment paper so we don’t have to move it later and mess the whole ducky duck.
- here you are supposed to cover the dough and allow it to proof again for 10 minutes, do i have to say that we forgot to do this? Just do it so it’s gonna be looking super smooth
- now you can press the stomach and you want to leave bigger space on the top of the duck so you can later put the nose and eyes. Check the process pictures so you know what i mean best.
- now grab the orange dough and you need to make 12 tiny balls, with the weight im giving you they should look smaller than what we did because ours were too big. You put a tiny bit of water like nothing just a bit to the places where you wanna add the nose and ducky feet. This will help you stick the parts, but if you add too much water its gonna slip and never stick.
toppings
- okay here you can be creative and add whatever you like the most, we just added stuff we had in our fridge that’s why its looking poor but it was yummy too. If you have feta cheese omg you should add it here because its gonna be looking amazing!
- but yeah we used cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and oregano.
bakes
- bake at 200 C or 390 F for about 13 minutes.
extra
- we melted one chocolate chip and used it for the eyes, this is kinda unnecessary you can add balsamic vinegar, bbq sauce, food coloring, or whatever is in your eye thing of choice?
- now you can eat it but not before sending us a picture on insta @archersfood so we can see your creations!
