Instructions
step one, Nutella disc
- Start by Making a Nutella disc, line a tray with parchment paper add circles of Nutella leaving some separation between each disc and freeze.
step two, combine dry ingredients
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. This forms the base for your fluffy red velvet pancakes.
step three, wet ingredients
- In a separate bowl or measuring jug, combine the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Whisk until smooth and vibrant.
step four, add the melted butter
- Pour melted butter into the wet ingredients, mixing thoroughly. This adds richness and helps create tender, soft pancakes.
step five, cook the pancakes
- Heat a non-stick pan over low heat and lightly grease with butter, remove excess butter with a paper towel. Pour batter onto the pan, cook with a lid for 3 minutes, place a frozen Nutella disk in the center and cover with more batter. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden.
