  • 2 eggs
  • 110 grams granulated sugar
  • 280 grams buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 280 grams all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • red food dye
  • pinch of salt

nutella filling

  • 60 grams Nutella

decoration (optional)

  • 30 grams white chocolate
  • red food dye
  • raspberries

Instructions

step one, Nutella disc

  1. Start by Making a Nutella disc, line a tray with parchment paper add circles of Nutella leaving some separation between each disc and freeze.

step two, combine dry ingredients

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. This forms the base for your fluffy red velvet pancakes.

step three, wet ingredients

  1. In a separate bowl or measuring jug, combine the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Whisk until smooth and vibrant.

step four, add the melted butter

  1. Pour melted butter into the wet ingredients, mixing thoroughly. This adds richness and helps create tender, soft pancakes.

step five, cook the pancakes

  1. Heat a non-stick pan over low heat and lightly grease with butter, remove excess butter with a paper towel. Pour batter onto the pan, cook with a lid for 3 minutes, place a frozen Nutella disk in the center and cover with more batter. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden.

step six, garnish and serve
