Butter
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING BROWN BUTTER INSTEAD OF SOFT BUTTER. I didnโt use brown butter because I didnโt want them to be to dark but the flavor is gonna be SO much better if you use brown butter. Make sure you allow the butter to cool down before using it.
here is how you make brown butter,
start by melting the butter in a light colored pan on medium-low heat. Continue to stir gently to prevent the butter from burning. The butter will start to foam and then slightly change color. Once it turns golden brown, remove from the stove.
Here you can see the difference in colors, if you use brown butter they will turn out darker but so much more delicious.
Tips
making cookies is super easy but we are still gonna give you some tips so it helps you make them easily.
–Making sure the butter is not melted is probably the most important tip for me, you wanna make sure it has a soft texture, even if you decide to brown your butter make sure its not melted when you use it.
–Use a mix of bread flour and all purpose flour, why?
- Bread flour will help us achieve a chewy texture in our cookies and will also help the cookie batter to hold shape when baking.
- Combining bread flour an all purpose flour gives us the perfect texture in our cookies and cream cookie.
–Mix the flours and baking powder before adding it to the butter so its perfectly combined since we donโt wanna over work our cookie batter.
–Freeze the cookies after you shape them in a baking tray, it will help so much with keeping the shape in the oven.
-Add different sizes of oreos, we chopped some, we added whole oreos too the mini ones. You could also add white chocolate chips I just donโt enjoy eating white chocolate but it would pair nicely with the cookies and cream cookie.
how to make it
We start by making the base, make sure the butter is soft and not cold and we mix it with the sugars. We add egg and make sure to mix. the batter curdles a little but its gonna fix by itself just by adding the dry ingredients.
in a separate bowl we mix the dry ingredients and then we add them to the butter. We add the oreos and shape the cookie dough adding a cookie in the middle and we freeze it. We bake them 10-13 minutes and we allow them to cool down a little before eating..
