How to make the best easy, soft buttery milk bread without milk..
We were supposed to add milk powder to this dough but we literally realized when the dough was in the oven, too late. Even without milk it turned out amazing since it has butter on it. I donโt think thereโs a bad bread recipe in this world to be honest, all breads are yummy even the supermarket ones.

- It takes about 20 minutes to knead if you have the help of a stand mixer, if you donโt have one it may take a little longer, about 25 minutes.
- The first rise, after kneading the dough is gonna take about 1h and 30 minutes in the meantime you can wash ur dishes:). You want to make sure its grown in size about double size, this part should be done on a warm place, it could be right besides of a fireplace, on a place you know thereโs gonna be sun..
- After the dough rises you are fold them like it will be shown later in the explanation pictures.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DONT HAVE ANY WARM PLACE IN YOUR HOUSE, itโs okay. You are gonna need a little longer time , you should make the dough and leave it in the fridge so the next day it has doubled in size. We do this in so many occasions and it literally turns out perfect.
BAKES:
- Bake at 200 C / 392 F for about 34 minutes, keep checking your oven because it may take more or less, you should see when itโs done from the color of the bread.

RECIPE in cups and grams
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 + 1/4 cups (400 grams) bread flour
- 4.94 oz (136 grams) water
- 5 tbsp (70 grams) butter
- 1 1/2 eggs
- 1 block or 1 1/2 tbsp (25 grams) of fresh yeast
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- Egg for egg wash
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a bowl add bread flour, water, soft butter, eggs, fresh yeast and salt.
2. With the help of your stand mixer of choice knead the dough for about 20 minutes. If you donโt have one you can knead the dough for about 25 minutes. If you grab a little piece of dough pinching from the sides stretch it a little until you see a really thin layer without breaking.
3.After kneading, make sure to cover with a damping towel or food plastic wrap. Skin to skin, that means the plastic or towel should be touching the dough so it doesnโt dry, when using a towel i like to wet it a little so the dough stays fresh, sometimes it sticks to the dough but thatโs better than having to throw away the top layer of your dough. Allow resting for 1h and 30 minutes, time may change depending on the temperature, I would say to just make sure the dough has doubled in size.
4.Time has passed and you should have a way bigger in size dough.
5. Cut the dough into 4 sections, the should weight 170-174 grams each.
6. Follow the picture instructions on how to fold each. Itโs really easy. FIRST i like to shape each one into a ball so itโs easier to get the shape i want for me. Roll the dough with a rolling pan. Fold both sides to the middle. Rolling pan again. Fold into that cute shape. Just look at the pictures itโs easier than me explaining it.
7. You need one of these pans for bread, you can find them anywhere, go to amazon, your local pan store, your neighbor I donโt know. You donโt need one tho, if you canโt find it anywhere you can use whatever baking tin you have, the shape is probably not gonna be the same but its gonna be super delicious anyways. Using plastic wrap cover the dough and allow resting for 25 minutes in a super warm place.
8. The dough should be so much bigger in size, beat one egg and using a brush spread or paint the bread.
9. Go ahead and Bake at 200 C / 392 F for about 34 minutes. You should check the oven constantly and you can tell by the color if itโs baked or not. We donโt wanna burn the bread but we definitely donโt want raw bread dough. It may take a little longer in your oven, they all work different.

- paint with egg
- bake at 0 C 392 F for about 34 minutes
