Kinder Bueno Dessert

  • This super easy no bake Kinder recipe will be prepared in a square pan. We are using a USA Pan square pan, but you can use any brand you prefer. The size of the pan is 8 inches (20 cm).
  • This recipe yields about 8 portions, although it really depends on how big you cut the slices and how much you want to enjoy.
  • If you can’t find Kinder spread, don’t worry. We have a link for you to order it with a discount using archersfood (gifted).

Ingredients you’ll need and why they matter

🧈 IMPORTANT: Let’s take a look at why each ingredient in this recipe is important and how you can make a few tweaks, including gluten-free options. Don’t worry, the exact quantities are always in the recipe card!
  • Kinder Bueno Spread: Kinder Bueno doesn’t have an official spread, so we’ll be using a hazelnut spread or a white hazelnut spread. Both taste incredible and are easy to find in most stores or online. If you can’t find them, melt some Kinder Maxi bars or mix hazelnut butter with melted white chocolate to create a homemade version.
  • Milk: The milk is used to loosen the Kinder spread so you can dip the waffle cookies easily. It helps soften the texture just enough to make the layers creamy and spoonable.
  • Waffle Cookies: These might be called wafer biscuits or wafer fingers depending on where you live. They add crunch and texture to balance the creamy mousse layers. Any brand or type of wafer cookie will work beautifully.
  • Cream Cheese: Always go for full-fat cream cheese to keep the dessert smooth and stable. It gives the filling a creamy structure. You can swap it for mascarpone for a slightly richer and sweeter flavor. Make sure it’s at room temperature so it blends evenly.
  • Heavy Whipping Cream: Choose a cream with at least 35 percent fat. Anything lower won’t whip and will affect the texture. Avoid using pre-whipped cream since it can make the mousse dense or grainy instead of fluffy.
  • Granulated Sugar: We’re only adding a little sugar because the hazelnut spread already brings sweetness. If you’re using an unsweetened spread, you can increase the sugar slightly. The recipe card quantities are based on regular sweet hazelnut spread.
  • Kinder Buenos: We’re using both milk and white Kinder Buenos.
  • Chocolate: We’re melting half milk chocolate and half white chocolate to create a pattern on top. It gives a beautiful finish and adds extra flavor.
If you’ve ever had trouble melting chocolate without burning it, we’ll explain the bain-marie method in the next section to help you get it perfectly smooth every time.

Variations of This Kinder Dessert

If you love the idea of this dessert but aren’t the biggest fan of Kinder Buenos, or if you have an allergy and need to make some adjustments, don’t worry.

There are plenty of delicious ways to customize it while keeping that same creamy, dreamy no-bake texture.

Biscoff Version: We already have several Biscoff desserts you can check out, including baked and no-bake cheesecakes.

To make a Biscoff version of this dessert, simply replace the waffle cookies with Biscoff cookies and swap the hazelnut spread for Biscoff spread. The result is warm, spiced, and absolutely addictive.

Nutella Version: We love making Nutella desserts, they’re always rich, smooth, and so satisfying.

For this version, you can use chocolate cookies or Oreos as the base, and replace the hazelnut spread with Nutella. You can even keep the Kinder Buenos on top if you like the combination of flavors.

Other Kinder Treats: If you still love the idea of Kinder but want to switch things up, try using Happy Hippo, Kinder Joy, or Kinder Maxi instead. They bring a fun twist and make every bite a little different.

You’ll be able to find all of these variations and more on our website soon. We absolutely love creating easy, no-bake desserts that anyone can prepare and enjoy at home.

Special Tools to Preapre a Kinder Dessert

To prepare this Kinder Bueno no-bake dessert, you’ll need a few basic kitchen tools. If there are any possible substitutions, you’ll find them listed here too.

  • Kitchen Scale: For baking and pastry work, I always recommend using a kitchen scale and measuring in grams for accuracy. If you don’t have one, you can still use measuring cups and spoons, but a scale will always give you the most reliable results.
  • Mixing Bowls: Choose bowls that are large enough to mix comfortably without spilling ingredients. You’ll be using a few different bowls for the various layers, so having more than one can be helpful.
  • Whisk or Electric Mixer: You’ll need this to whip the heavy cream until it reaches soft peaks.
If you own a stand mixer, that’s even better, since it can do the work for you while you prepare the rest of the dessert.
  • Square Pan: Any type of square or rectangular pan works perfectly here since this is a no-bake recipe. It’s simply used to build and layer the dessert, so size and shape are flexible.
  • Spatula: A silicone spatula is ideal for folding ingredients gently and scraping every bit of mixture from your bowls. It helps keep the texture light and ensures nothing goes to waste.
  • Refrigerator: Make sure you have enough space in your fridge to chill the dessert properly. Since this recipe needs to set in the fridge, keeping it cold is key for achieving the perfect creamy and firm consistency.

How to make a Kinder Bueno Dessert Step by Step Photos:

This is just an overview of the recipe with step-by-step pictures included. You’ll find the full recipe with exact quantities and detailed instructions in the recipe card below.

We’ll start by preparing a mixture of milk with Kinder Bueno spread. This will be used later to soak the waffle cookies.

For the filling, whip the heavy whipping cream with the sugar using a whisk or an electric mixer. Whip until it reaches soft peaks, don’t overwhip, or the texture will turn curdled.

In a separate bowl, combine the cream cheese with the Kinder Bueno spread. Then fold in the whipped cream carefully until smooth.

When working with the cream cheese, never use a whisk. Using a whisk will change the structure of your dessert and can make the mousse lose its creamy, stable texture. Instead, use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently smooth and mix your cream cheese.
The temperature of your ingredients is also key, the cream cheese should always be at room temperature, which helps it blend easily and prevents lumps. Meanwhile, your heavy whipping cream should be very cold before you start whipping. This ensures it thickens properly and gives you that airy, silky texture that makes this Kinder dessert so irresistible.

Now it’s time to build the no bake Kinder Bueno dessert.

Start with a layer of soaked waffle cookies, add a layer of Kinder spread, then spread over some of the Kinder Bueno filling.

Repeat with another layer of soaked waffle cookies, more Kinder spread, and the rest of the filling. Smooth out the top and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight, depending on whether you want a firmer sliceable dessert or a spoon dessert.

To decorate, melt some Kinder Bueno spread and drizzle it over half of the dessert. On the other half, pour melted milk chocolate.

Finish by adding Kinder Bueno bars on top, both white and milk chocolate, for a stunning and delicious finish.

Tips for the Best No Bake Kinder Bueno Dessert

  1. Use the right cream: Always use heavy whipping cream with at least 35% fat. This ensures it whips properly and holds structure. Anything with less fat is usually meant for cooking or coffee creamer and won’t whip to the right consistency.
  2. Whip carefully: Stop whipping the cream as soon as it reaches soft peaks. If you overwhip, it will quickly turn into a grainy, curdled texture that’s hard to fix.
  3. Chill your tools: For the best results, make sure your mixing bowl and whisk are completely clean, dry, and cold before whipping the cream. This helps the cream whip up faster and more stable.
  4. Work the cream cheese gently: When combining the cream cheese with the Kinder Bueno spread, use only a spatula to fold them together. Don’t use a whisk, as it will change the structure of the filling slightly and make the dessert take much longer to set.
  5. Setting time matters: If you plan to serve this as a spoon dessert, you don’t need to refrigerate it overnight—a few hours will be enough. But if you want clean slices that hold up on a plate, let it set overnight in the fridge.

How to Melt Chocolate like a Professional

If you’ve ever struggled with melting chocolate only to have it turn hard, grainy, or burnt, don’t worry. Here’s how to do it properly so you get perfectly smooth, glossy chocolate every time. There are two methods you can try:

Microwave Method:

This is the quicker option, but it’s also easy to burn the chocolate if you’re not careful. Place your chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it in short intervals of 10 to 15 seconds. After each interval, stir thoroughly before microwaving again. Repeat this process until the chocolate is completely melted.

The key is constant stirring. If you let it heat for 20 seconds without mixing and then repeat, it can overheat and become hard or burnt. This method works, but it requires careful attention and personally, I find it a bit risky.

Bain-Marie Method:

This is the professional’s favorite because it gives you full control and keeps the chocolate silky. Fill a large pot with some water and heat it gently the water should never boil. Place your chocolate in a smaller heat-safe bowl or pot and set it over the warm water

Here are a few critical tips for success:

  • The bottom of the chocolate bowl should never touch the water.
  • Keep the heat low to medium; too much heat can make the chocolate split.
  • Make sure there’s no steam or water getting into the chocolate, as even a few drops can ruin the texture and appearance.
  • Stir gently and continuously until the chocolate is completely smooth.

Using the bain-marie method takes a little patience, but the result is perfectly melted chocolate every time glossy, silky, and ready for decorating your dessert beautifully.
